CPR and AED

CPR and AED go hand-in-hand with each other when providing resuscitation to a victim of cardiac arrest. As per the 2010 Basic Life Support (BLS) guidelines by the American Heart Association, CPR and AED are the major parts of the emergency response system after a person has collapsed and is a suspected victim of cardiac arrest. Because of the varying techniques in providing CPR to adults, children, and infants, Victoria First Aid offers different levels of training.

What First Aid Training is Available?

A short lesson on Myocardial Infarction is given below.

Trainees enrolled in workplace approved first aid and CPR courses will learn how to recognize and manage a victim of myocardial infarction, also known as a heart attack. Here are some tips in recognizing and assisting someone who could be having a heart attack.

  • Many people confuse severe heart burn (a problem with hyperacidity of the stomach) with a heart attack. When in doubt, contact EMS immediately.
